ORIGEM DO CARNAVAL

Dez mil anos antes de Cristo, homens, mulheres e crianças se reuniam no verão com os rostos mascarados e os corpos pintados para espantar os demônios da má colheita. As origens do carnaval têm sido buscadas nas mais antigas celebrações da humanidade, tais como as Festas Egípcias que homenageavam a deusa Isis e ao Touro Apis. Os gregos festejavam com grandiosidade nas Festas Lupercais e Saturnais a celebração da volta da primavera, que simbolizava o Renascer da Natureza. Mas num ponto todos concordavam, as grandes festas como o carnaval estão associadas a fenômenos astronômicos e a ciclos naturais. O carnaval se caracteriza por festas, divertimentos públicos, bailes de máscaras e manifestações folclóricas. Na Europa, os mais famosos carnavais foram ou são: os de Paris, Veneza, Munique e Roma, seguidos de Nápoles, Florença e Nice.

ORIGIN OF THE CARNIVAL

10.000 b.C., men, women and kids used to join together in the summer with masked faces and painted bodies for frighten the devils of the bad harvest. The origins of the carnival have been sought in the oldest celebrations of the humanity, such as the Egyptian Parties that honored god Isis and to the Bull Apis. The Greeks celebrated with grandeur in the Parties Lupercais and Saturnais the celebration of the return of the spring, that symbolized Be reborn of the Nature. But in a point everybody agreed, the big parties as the carnival are associated to astronomical phenomena and to natural cycles. The carnival is characterized for parties, public enjoyments, dances of masks and folk manifestations. In the Europe, the most famous carnivals were or are: the of Paris, Venice, Munich and Rome, followed by Nápoles, Florence and Nice.
